Parking Areas more locks: 13 million euro from the Central Committee of the National Road Transport
As is well known in our country, road transport, both for passengers and freight in particular, is by far the prevailing mode.
In this context it is strongly felt - said Giorgio Colato Vice President of the Central Committee of Dawn Road, - by all industry players the need, both on state highways and on roads with higher mileage, a network of equipped rest areas that allow for easier compliance with driving times and rest periods, the parking of vehicles in a safe, adequate facilities for drivers.
The Central Committee, using funds specifically earmarked by law for the protection of road safety and the environment, promoted an outright grant to those public or private entity that has a buildable project quickly, already approved by the competent Authority aims to achieve a rest area for commercial vehicles
A special commission appointed by the Central Committee has taken steps to evaluate the many requests received, the suitability of the subjects, the conditions set forth in the notices and relevant specifications.
This thorough testing has gradually led to the approval and funding of 18 projects. Of these, 17 are under construction as one of the companies admitted to the implementation has given up, so the fees provided for that area (located in the Puglia region) have been redistributed over the other 17 structures. The total contribution made available by the Central Committee for the initiatives amounts to more than 13 million.
